The spirit and vision that drove the creation of Managers Investment Group (MIG) in 1986 has strengthened over the years and underpins the Firm today. Our Firm’s original concept was to serve our clients by using our investment expertise to search the world over for, in our opinion, the very best investment talent, and then bring that talent to our clients through a family of open architecture mutual funds.

Today, Managers Investment Group offers long- term investment strategies through a unique platform that includes our original open-architecture mutual funds, augmented to include a family of funds and separate accounts managed by a selection of Affiliated Managers Group’s (AMG) Affiliate investment boutiques. This combination of investment products allows us to serve the needs of large institutional investors, thousands of financial advisors and investment professionals, as well as our individual mutual fund shareholders. Throughout our history, our objective has remained the same — Develop and deliver investment strategies that can improve our clients’ ability to meet their long-term investment needs.

Our Open Architecture Mutual Funds

We serve shareholders of The Managers FundsTM through our disciplined manager-of-managers approach to fund management. Our investment team is responsible for designing funds that invest in a specific asset class, such as emerging market equity or short-duration U.S. Government securities. We conduct rigorous manager research to find what we believe to be the best investment firm available to make the day-to-day investment decisions for the fund. We then oversee ongoing portfolio monitoring and manager due diligence to assure that this remains the case. This family of funds is asset class specific and designed to be used as building-block components to customize an investment solution for each investor.

Access to Proprietary Investment Boutiques

Our investment platform is further enhanced by our offerings of mutual funds and separate account strategies managed by a powerful collection of AMG’s boutique investment organizations. These strategies are available to a variety of investors from individual shareholders to very large institutional clients. As is the case with our open-architecture funds, these offerings are also asset class or strategy- specific investment disciplines used as building blocks by our investors. Our investment team designs and implements the funds, monitors the portfolios and provides research-based service for these products.
