Effective September 12, 2008, the Fund is closed to new and existing shareholder accounts and scheduled for liquidation on or about November 24, 2008. For more information please refer to the prospectus.
The Fund employs multiple portfolio managers who specialize in distinct investment approaches. This “intelligence diversification” not only serves to manage risk, but also helps us tap the markets’ full potential by focusing different analytical insights on each class of investment. Fund management strives to achieve this performance and diversification while ensuring that the Fund operates within the framework of its investment objective and principal investment strategies.
The Managers Small Company Fund's assets are currently allocated between two asset managers, Kalmar Investment Advisers, and Epoch Investment Partners, each of which act independently of the other and uses its own methodology to select portfolio investmsnts.

Kalmar Investment Advisers
Kalmar Investment Advisers (“Kalmar”) is a subadvisor for a portion of the Managers Small Company Fund. Kalmar, located at Barley Mill House, 3701 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, is a Delaware Business Trust formed in 1996 as a sister asset management organization to Kalmar Investments, Inc., which was founded in 1982. Since the firm's founding Kalmar has emphasized smaller company stocks.
Portfolio Managers
Ford Draper, Jr., Dana Walker and Gregory Hartley are the portfolio managers for the portion of the Fund managed by Kalmar.
Ford B. Draper, Jr.
President, Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager
Ford B. Draper, Jr. has over thirty-five years of experience in investment research and portfolio management. After attending Yale University and receiving an MBA degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, Ford began his career in the investment research and capital management departments of Smith, Barney & Co. In 1970, he joined Baker, Fentress & Company, a $350 million publicly-owned closed-end mutual fund, performing original investment research on a broad spectrum of companies and industries. For the following twelve years at Baker, Fentress, Ford had responsibilities as Vice President that included trading, investment research, investment strategy, and management of the Fund's portfolio. Ford founded Kalmar Investments in 1982.
Dana F. Walker, CFA
Portfolio Manager/Research Analyst
Dana F. Walker, CFA began his career in investment research and management experience in 1983. Dana worked four years for Delfi Management, Inc., investment adviser to the $350 million mutual fund group Sigma Funds. As a Senior Research Analyst, he performed original research in consumer-related industries, healthcare, retailing and distribution and was responsible for investment selection from these areas for the Sigma Funds and the portfolios of DP Asset Management, an affiliated $100 million investment advisory firm. Dana joined Kalmar Investments in 1986. Dana received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
Gregory A. Hartley, CFA
Portfolio Manager/Research Analyst
Gregory A. Hartley, CFA began his career in 1984 with Ashford Capital Management, Inc., a then $100 million investment management and consulting firm. As a senior analyst and member of the Investment Committee, he performed original research on small growth companies from healthcare and specialty manufacturing to financial services and technology. He was responsible for new idea stock selection and management of over $50 million in portfolio holdings. Mr. Hartley joined Kalmar Investments in 1993. Gregory graduated from Indiana University’s School of Business and later received his MBA degree from Indiana’s Graduate School of Business.

Epoch Investment Partners ("Epoch") is a subadvisor for a portion of the Managers Small Company Fund. Located at 640 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY, Epoch specializes in value investing on behalf of institutional and individual clients.
Portfolio Managers
William W. Priest, David N. Pearl and Michael A. Wehlhoelter are the portfolio managers for the portion of the Fund managed by Epoch.
David N. Pearl
Managing Director and Portfolio Manager
David N. Pearl joined Epoch in April 2004 and is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining Epoch, David was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Steinberg Priest & Sloane Capital Management, LLC where he was responsible for both institutional and private client assets. Previously, he held a similar portfolio management position at ING Furman Selz Asset Management, where he was responsible for $200M of institutional and private client assets. He also founded and managed Sagacity International Ltd., a long/short hedge fund. Prior to that, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Citibank Global Asset Management. He managed over $200M of mutual fund and institutional accounts, and ranked in the top decile of performance versus his peer group. Prior to Citibank, David was an officer and senior analyst of BEA Associates, predecessor to Credit Suisse Asset Management – Americas. David received an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Pearl's role with respect to the portion of the Fund managed by Epoch is to serve as lead portfolio manager.

Prior to co-founding Epoch in 2004, William W. Priest was a Co-Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Steinberg Priest & Sloane Capital Management, LLC from March 2001 to April 2004. Prior to that time, he was Chairman, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management, LLC ("CSAM") from May 2000 to March 2001; Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Management Committee, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at CSAM from January 1998 to April 2000; and prior to that CEO and portfolio manager of predecessor BEA Associates from 1989 to 1998. Mr. Priest's role with respect to the portion of the Fund managed by Epoch is overseeing strategy and risk management.
Michael A. Wehlhoelter
Managing Director, Head of Quantitative Research and Portfolio Manager
Michael A. Wehlhoelter joined Epoch in June 2005. From October 2001 to June 2005 he was a Director and Portfolio Manager in the Quantitative Strategies Group at Columbia Management Group, Inc. In this role, he managed over $5 billion in mutual funds and separately managed portfolios. From June 1997 to October 2001 he was at Credit Suisse Asset Management Group, where he was a portfolio manager in the Structured Equity group, overseeing long/short market neutral and large cap core products. From May 1986 to June 1997 he was a portfolio manager and quantitative research analyst at Chancellor/LGT Asset Management.
